Instructors

Tess White, Studio Owner

Tess White, Mom of 2, and a retired hockey wife. While living in California and Michigan, Tess fell in love with Barre. When her hubby decided to hang up the skates and leave the NHL, she knew it was her time to shine.  With her passion for Barre it was a no brainer to team up with her friend Nikki Smith and open up Winnipeg's first Barre Studio. A little about Tess:

What is your fave Barre move to teach?  I honestly can not pick just one, but if i had to pick one it would be Pretty Legs. With everyone facing each other for this move, I get to stand in the center and watch the clients motivate, encourage and push each other (and see the dirty looks coming my way). Women supporting Women... best move EVER! Plus who doesn't wanna look pretty working out.

What is one of your weird quirks? I laugh harder then anyone else at my own jokes (or as most would say, I cackle NOT laugh).

What is your fave treat? Popcorn and Sour Patch Kids.

Who is your girl crush? Faith Hill, a country girl, always carries herself with so much grace, looks insanely amazing for her age, is humble and loves God! The entire package.

How many books have you read this year? Do kid books count... because I have pretty much every Dr. Suess book memorized. Adult books, that's not happening for a while.

Fave movie? The Other Boleyn Girl, I LOVE the 16th century and especially the history of King Henry VIII (who would have thought this gal was a little history nerd).

Fave Summer activity? Renting a cabin up at Victoria Beach and filling my face full of dream and smiley face cookies.

Fave Barre move to teach? I would have to say V-slider 1234! I love hearing the clients reactions when you move from 2-3 inches and they realize the direction you're going with the exercise. Also love seeing their faces after the move is done. Some happy, and some are just angry at you.

Who is your celeb look alike? I have gotten that I look like Cynthia Nixon (Miranda from Sex and the City)

What is your fave treat to eat? Oreo Fudge! If any client brings me some, I will NOT make them do V-slider 1234. haha
